If you are familiar with CorelDRAW, you might already know how to duplicate an Object (STRG+D). This is handy when you want to create identical shapes multiple times. After duplication you can change the properties (such as color or outline), for each copy independently.

If however, you want to have the duplicate instantly inheriting the properties of the original shape, even after editing, it is better to use Clones. This is similar to working with Symbols.  Changes made to the Master (the original shape), are automatically applied to all cloned shapes.

For frequent cloning it is advisable to create a custom toolbar (Tools > Customization > Command Bars > New...), and to add the cloning commands to this for future use (Tools > Customization > Commands > All (Show All Items) > and add the following commands: Clone / Revert to Master / Select Clones / Select Master).
