Alignment guides can be used to interactively place objects with equal spacing between them.

For example, create a rectangle. Now start moving the rectangle to the right, holding down the Ctrl-key to move the rectangle along a horizontal line.  Right-click once before releasing the left mouse-button to place a copy at desired distance from first rectangle.

Now select the second rectangle and start moving this towards the right holding Ctrl-key.  As soon as the spacing between second and third rectangle is identical with the spacing between the first and second rectangles, you will see the equal spacing guides appear as well as the actual spacing between the objects.  Alignment Guides can be enabled by either navigating to View > Alignment Guides or by using the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Shift+A, or via the Layout Toolbar or the Alignment and Dynamic Guides docker.
