CorelDRAW X6.2 sneak peek #1
Gérard on Graphics
A product management view on the Graphics world, CorelDRAW and much more.

The team is hard at work to release the X6.2 update before the end of 2012, and I wanted to give you a sneak peek of one of the new features that will be exclusively available for those of you who have signed-up for a Premium Membership (it will be included in X7 for those who don't sign-up for the Premium Membership option). You can find out more about the Premium Membership either on our web site or within CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X6 in the help menu.

So, I'm not a premium member, do I get the update as a hotfix and just not the new features? or do I not get fixes anymore?

Mike.

The bug fixes are included in X6.2 but you'll have to wait for X7 to get the goodies.

The Bug Fixes would be good.... Font Navigator ASAP

Anyone with a free Standard Membership, e.g. who has purchased and registered their product, will get fixes with CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X6.2. Early access to features that would else only be available in X7 is exclusively available for those who sign-up for a Premium Membership.

Hi Gerard.

I would like to add one suggestion.

What about a Separation preview in any new version of CorelDraw?

I know, it is in "Print" dialog, but I think about something more comfortable, just like in Acrobat.

This feature I miss for a long time, when I need to check behavior with overprints etc...

By the way - Panning using middle mouse button is simply GREAT IDEA! Thanks.

this is clearly a minor update why the heck is it PREMIUM MEMBERSHIP ONLY?

My understanding is that 7.0 would be considered a major upgrade white 6.1 6.2 etc is minor updates...

way to go Corel to squeeze more money out of your client base. I was dead-set against memberships from the gt go and this is exactly the reason why!

Thank you for clarifying Gerard.

@ECC

6.2 will be an update with bugfixzes for those with Standard membership.

There are however a couple of new features for those who have a Premium membership, like the Alignment guides that Gérard mentioned.

No need to pay for a Premium membership if you don't think it's worth it. Simple as that.

I don't have any problem with added features for Premium members but the only question I have is what kind of wait is there for an X7 release?

Historically, we've released a new major release of CorelDRAW every 24 months on average. I can't provide more details about X7 ;-)
