When you draw a marquee around several objects and you want to eliminate one thing from the selection, is there a way to unselect just one object from being selected without having to unselect and reselect everything else? Thanks,Ellen
Yes, the shift key will let you click on one of the selected items to deselect it.
Complementing the HarryLondon´s Tip: holding down SHIFT key also allows you to add more objects to your previous selection.
Additional tip:
Select the object(s) you don't want selected first, then drag a marquee while holding Shift (or Shift+Alt). This will select all other objects inside the marquee (or touched by the marquee when holding Shift+Alt), and deselect the previously selected object(s).
Thanks, everybody. All tips appreciated. :>)
