Hi, I'm a relatively new user to Corel so please excuse my ignorance. I was working happily on a booklet in Corel until 2 days ago it grayed out all of my "save" options. Both in the drop down menu and on the shortcuts list! I'm really worried I might loose 2 days worth of work due to this! Any ideas on how I can get this back? I can't even use Save-As. I have no idea why it suddenly stopped letting me save my work.
Hello erin; To save what you are working on the Hot Key for save is Ctrl+s, You should name and save a file as soon as you can with the Save As command, then when you use the Ctro+s it will save the file using the name you gave the file in the same dir.. But if the save is grayed out the file may be corrupted. You may want to copy and paste the file in another page to see if it helps.

Save happens in background so you can carry on working, but you cannot save a second copy until the save completes and therefore the save options are greyed out until the original save completes.
See http://community.coreldraw.com/forums/p/46611/222720.aspx#222720 for more information about this.
check if you are using the Trial version, after 30 days the "save" option is grayed and you can't save until register the program
I looked and the last saved date is 10-17 which means that it is not auto-saving for me. Any new docs I make don't have the save button either so I'm not even sure how to copy and re-save. So frustrating! I'm using a full (not trial) version so that's not the issue either.
It is not just the auto-saves that happen in the background. The saves that you request yourself are also background operations (in the default state -- you can turn background saves off).
Did you find the background tasks icon mentioned in the other thread? Is it showing, and if it is, what shows up when you click it?
