Hi guys! When in WIREFRAME view... My Corel's slow!!! It slows down to a point I hear my computer fan accelerating demanding more power from my processor!!!Does this happen to any of you?
Curious, being a avid user of CorelDRAW, do you regret moving to v2019 or do you find it just fine as before and worth the "upgrade" or "downgrade"?
Hi,I'm a subscriber. I 'rent' CorelDRAW at 210.00$ CAD every year. I always get all the updates and many other candies.I don't regret 2019. BUT...there are still a lot of bugs I wish would have been taken care of.Many other existing programs tend to sell this new vision. Subscription. That way, you can always have the latest version corrected or not. New versions are often more compatible with other programs and updated Windows.Corel has now gone for the new version every year thing. So, I think they'll end up never properly updating their versions. They'll simply finish correcting the issues for the every following versions coming up.Even after 2 major updates of 2019. A lot of bugs still remain. ANNOYING BUGS wich worked perfectly in 2018. Go figure...Other than that, issues corrected in update 2 make it more stable and more performant (besides the strange slowing down in wireframe view).
Personaly, If I wasn't a subscriber, I'd wait every 3 or even 4 versions before upgrading. The lack of new features aren't worth buying every new version. Instead of focusing on new exiting features, they mostly focus on trying to make the workspace better, playing around with the buttons, transforming dialog boxes, etc. The same bitmap effects, 3D extrude, name 'em, exist since CorelDRAW 8! That's 22 years ago!Users in these forums keep coming up with great new ideas they think of or see from other programs. I think they should listen to their loyal clients. When the dialog boxes work fine, don't touch them anymore! Simply add in new features! There was a time when Corel used to set the pace in the digital designing world... Sadly, it ain't the case anymore.
I downloaded the v2019 trial today with latest update2 preinstalled and will mess with it more to see if this happens. (I also purchased more BOX licenses of v2019 since Corel is getting rid of their UPGRADES and I am NOT paying full $499 for all these seats because of that! What a rotten way to treat loyal paying customers from day 1. I don't know why you rent or subscribe for so much more either per year? That's a even worse deal. Just my opinion.
But seriously, if anything when in wireframe mode, should be faster versus slower which you know...so that is VERY odd.
One thing I can suggest to look at maybe as a DEFINITE problem I have had since the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update (WFCU) has really messed things up when using CorelDraw X7 and after (possibly prior versions also?) and Adobe Type1 fonts.
As of this update (WFCU), Type 1 fonts are NOT supported anymore like they used to. You can still use them, but you'll have nothing but problems. (it also affected Word and it's fonts).
Open a CorelDraw file that has Type 1 fonts (or a mix also with OpenType and TrueType) and it will be really slow when working in it.
Now take that same file and replace ALL the Type 1 font objects with a OpenType or TrueType equivalent (or any other font if you'd like for testing) and CorelDraw will work normally speedwise as it always has before, even the OLD CorelDraw versions. Typically when you zoom in and out, all the objects outside the artboard take a long time to redraw on the screen incrementally. Also when dragging and copying these Type 1 font objects using the default duplicate "+" key.
Apparently this slow down does not happen with the Adobe Products! i.e. Illustrator.
It was obviously NOT Corel's fault for this, but personally, after I first noticed this in X7, it STILL has not be rectified to counter-act the Type 1 problem in versions during or after this Windows 10 Fall Creators Update, even up to v2019 which I just verified still has the same problem still on different current up to date workstations and a Surface Pro 6 (i7)! It's getting REAL HARD to keep paying for this. I could stay back on X7 and v2017 licenses, but I feel screwed if I don't upgrade and also get the upgrade protection to avoid the high $499 per seat cost IF I DO NOT...which I feel everyone else feels the same!!!!!
: (
Well.... just been testing this POS v2019 TRIAL (UPDATE2 built in) and getting LOTS of BOMBS! Just BOMBS and DISAPPEARS WITHOUT NOTICE, not even a FREEZE, die and come back to life after a minute or so. JUST BOMBS! Not even a pop up at restart of the backup crash file.
WHAT A EFFING POS this v2019! And I just handed over a slew of CA$H yesterday with their stupid flash THREAT sale (which Is still going on and sure will be many more before DEC 1 2019) for more licenses for the LAST UPGRADES DITCH...and waiting within 30 days to decide to get the additional $99 Upgrade Protection for each seat or JUST RETURN ALL OF IT within the 30 days! I can function using all of X7 and 2017 licenses I have if need be if COREL DOESN'T GET THEIR CRAP TOGETHER! This v2019 better get fixed before v2020 comes out!!!!! Even if so, probably the same old crap with it! Then keep paying $99 year EACH until you effing DIE! It's like selling a NEW VEHICLE BUT WITHOUT BRAKES!!!! OR HELL, A TESLA AND THE BATTERIES EXPLODE WITHOUT NOTICE!
Corel is really going down the toilet I'm afraid, what a shame such a great core of program which was created years ago and idiots have totally taken this over to RUN IT INTO THE GROUND. Yes, a BUNCH OF IDIOTS. SELLING FAULTY SOFTWARE AND CLAIMING IT'S SO GREAT AND YOU TO BUY IT IF YOU WANT UPGRADE PROTECTION! TWISTED ARM MUCH?!?
And DON'T TELL ME IT'S MY HARDWARE ETC!!!! my current and previous versions of CorelDraw work JUST FINE!!!!!! (as long as Type 1 fonts aren't used as of Windows 10 Fall Creators Update and Coreldraw!)
MANY OF US HAVE OUR BUSINESSES DEPENDENT ON THIS SOFTWARE TO WORK WITHOUT PROBLEMS ON A DAILY FRIGGING BASIS. AND COREL KNOWS IT, THAT'S WHY THEY PUSH THIS UPGRADE PROTECTION CRAP.
LOUSY JOKE OF A COMPANY AND IT'S PEOPLE THIS COREL IS! : / YES. I AM TICKED!!!!! JUST CRASH AND BURN ALREADY SO WE CAN ALL REALLY MOVE ON TO ADOBE Illustrator with CADTOOLS, Affinity Designer or the FREE INKSCAPE or VECTR!
