Does X4 work without hitches on Windows 7 32bit?
I see a post where some are having issue with 64 bit.
I'm converting my PC to Win 7 but don't want to install programs that don't work.
regards
CorelDRAW 4 works better on Windows7 than XP or Vista. No need to upgrade, ServicePack or patch anything. I use it since several months and is very fast, and stable, seems that Win7 increases their speed.

I'm curious about this as well. Ariel, are you using X4 on Windows 7 with 64-bit? I'm going to be getting a new laptop soon and to get the features I'd like to have, I may need to go with a 64-bit machine.

Patti, I'm in the same boat as you.
I'd really love to dump this Vista computer and move on to Windows 7 but I've been reading conflicting reports about 64-bit compatibility.
Hugh...........are you out there? I think you are using a 64 bit Windows 7 machine, aren't you?
I'm seriously concerned about the drivers for my cutters and some of my embroidery software.
Also, can someone explain how the XP mode runs under Windows 7? I've read a few articles and I'm still confused.
thanks

Diane, I do indeed have Windows 7 Pro - 64 bit and I also have downloaded the Virtual Machine and WinXP from Microsoft's web site. This WinXP is tailored to run under the Virtual Machine, it is not from a CD/DVD.
I did this in order to use one of my plotter programs that has a dongle. Unfortunately, the maker of the plotter software does not have an Win7 64 bit driver for the dongle (they do have a Win7 - 32 bit driver, but unusable under Win7-64). With the Virtual Machine and the WinXP, running under it, I can share my hardware ports (USB, Serial COM ports, Printer port) to the WinXP. Thus, I can run my plotter software (and its dongle driver), under WinXP, which runs under Win7....
Other programs, which run under WinXP, do not rely upon any hardware, and do not run natively under Win7-64 bit, can be run from the Win7 Start menu, but the application is running in a WinXP mode.
Basically, almost any program that runs under Windows XP, can run under Windows 7 -64 bit with MS'es Virtual Machine and WinXP. Especially those items that the manufacturers do not provide a Win7-64 bit hardware driver. Another example is my scanner, Cannon has a Win 7 - 32 bit driver for it, but does not supply a Win 7 - 64 bit driver. Ergo, I obtained the WinXP driver for it and loaded that into the WinXP client on my Win 7 - 64 bit machine.
For my current workstation (which is a WinXP Pro), I am considering a Win7 - 32 bit update to it, but I am also thinking of a Win7 - 64 bit for the workstation. I just have not made up my mind, yet.
I hope this helps you.
Thanks Hugh for the lengthy reply.
I wasn't even serious about 64 bit as I have so many programs that are only at XP level and I rely on for my work.My main programs do allow 64 bit so now will contemplate a whole new upgrade - not just OS.regards
