My PC Configuration: 1. Windows 7 64-bit. 2. Photoshop CS4 installed in two versions- 32-bit and 64-bit. I try to install Corel KPT Collection in Photoshop CS4 64-bit folder - installed without any problems but KPT not support 64-bit Photoshop CS4 and KPT plugin not presented to use in Photoshop CS4 64-bit. I Uninstalled KPT Collection 7 without problems and tried to re-Install in Photoshop CS4 32-bit folder but at installation process I received the message that Installation Process Cannot Install UNinstaller Program for KPT 7 and installation process cancelled with Windows 7... I have tried to install KPT 7 some more times and received that message and process cancelled, But on the third time I could make installation and KPT-7 installed succeful... and presented to use in Photoshop CS4 32-bit version, but... But as I wish to open and use KPT Plugin in Photoshop CS4 each time from me it is required to enter serial number again... When I have tried to Uninstall Corel KPT 7 Collection I could not to make it because the UNinstaller for KPT 7 not presented and Corel KPT 7 not listen in Windows program manager - I can't to uninstal KPT 7 from system and I cannot use KPT 7 if he demands from me each time to enter serial number. I searched for possibility for reception of the direct help from Corel on email but could not find! It was necessary to write here...

Stupid Corel support - no one more Corel software to purchase. No email direct support, no help.

KPT Collection and many many other plugins do not work in CS4 64 Bit. The plugins have to be rewritten for 64 Bit and few plugin manufacturers have yet done so.  Considering Vista wasn't even officially supported by the KPT set, I am not surprised you are struggling with installation on Win 7.

I have successfully installed and run the KPT tools on Win Vista and Win 7 both 64 bit but only the 32 bit version of CS4 will run them.

To get around the problem.

Launch PS CS4 in XP Compatiblity mode as an administrator.

Invoke the plug in. Enter your serial number.

Close CS4

Reopen in Normal Compatibility mode and it should be fine.

I posted instructions for this on the CNews server two years ago but I see it has been cleaned off.

Good luck.

How to launch PS in XP mode on Win 7? All for it installed complete: Virtual Machine and Windows XP Mode. But, from what I run its?

I installed KPT Collection in PS 32-Bit version folder but UNinstaller for KPT not installed and KPT 7 not listened in Windows Program Manager. Befor I installed KPT 7 to PS 64-bit folder but not worked - and its removed without problems.

I am having the identical problem as Martes, but I am trying to use my KPT Collection with Painter 11.  Should I try to follow these steps with Painter?  Thanks for your help

Martes:

How to uninstall KPT if not listened in Program Manager and uninstaller it is not installed?

Hi Martes,

Maybe I´m missunderstanding you, but here goes.
Windows 7 is a microsoft program.
Corel KPT collection is a Corel program.
Corel Painter is a Corel program.
CS4 is a Adobe program.

If a plug in from Corel doesnt work under a Windows 7 and CS4 prgram doesnt instantly mean its only a Corel problem. In my view anyway.

I have Windows 7 PRO 64 bit and I use both CorelDRAW X5 and Corel Photo-Paint X5 (both in the CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X5). and it works fine with Photo-Paint.

I believe Photoshop CS4 64 bit came out, released AFTER the release of Corel KPT collection. Which can be one part of the problem.

Uninstalling program in a Windows 7 is done by opening the conrol panel and select program and right click choosing uninstall. I havent seen any "uninstaller" for any program in the program list via Start in WIn 7.

Why not try to Call Corel via the phone number listed on their website. Here is a link (copy & paste in your browser) with phone numbers to Corel in a wide variety of countries. http://www.corel.com/servlet/Satellite/se/en/Content/1152796558159

To be able to use XP mode in Windows 7 you can NOT do it if you have a Win 7 HOME edition. The Home editions simply dont have it. Here is a link to Microsoft website telling you more about XP mode. Remember you have to activate XP mode yourself. It will take up about 500 MB of your hard drive. http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/download.aspx

Hope this helps,

Hi Everyone,

I've just bought a new laptop with Windows 7 Home ed. operating system and I've installed PhotoShop CS4 on it - trouble is, I can't get to access any of my plug-ins in PS.

I've a whole load, KPT 3, 5, 6 and 7 plus most of the Auto FX stuff but the older versions.

Can anyone tell me what I need to do to get all my plug-ins working please ?

I've followed the administrator bit but it will only allow me to operate PS in Vista and that doesn't put it right.

I've been onto Auto FX and their answer is to upgrade but to upgrade everything would cost me a fortune.

Any ideas ?

Thanks for posting this.  I was getting annoyed that I had to type in the serial no. every time I wanted to use one of the KPT Collection plug-ins in Painter 11 and PS (32bit) on my Windows 7 64bit system.

I did exactly as you said, went into the Properties for each program ( for those who don't know how - right click on the Program .exe file (or shortcut) and you'll see Properties at the bottom of the drop down menu - select the Compatibility Tab), selected XP SP3 Compatibility and Run as Administrator.  Then opened the program, and chose a KPT plugin (and it didn't request the serial).  Then shut down the program and went back into Properties turned off the XP compatibility and unchecked the Run as Administrator and everything worked perfectly after that.

Cheers Rikk!

Likely because you have launched the 64 Bit version of PS instead of the 32 bit.  Most plugins haven't yet been updated for the 64 bit versions. Launch using the 32 bit version and see if your plugins are there.

I know this is an old post but I offer this in case any one out there is still looking for a solution.

I bought PaintShop Photo Pro 3x last month. Running a brand new 64bit Alienware system. My KPT collection did not work. I used a variation of the above fix like this:

Properties/Compatibility/WindowsXP/Run as admin

The program would not load

Properties/Compatibility/Windows7/Run as admin

The program would not load

Properties/Compatibility/uncheck/Run as Admin/uncheck

Program loads....KPT works like a charm.

Hope this helps someone. And thanks for the fix.

This system is not working on Windows 7 With Adobe Photoshop CC because it's only working with Windows 7 althrough.... so i have found another possibility.

The most easy method to get working thoses old plug-ins is to run these in the 32-bit version of Photoshop.

If you have a problem with serial demand each time you use a KPT plug-in, it's because the folder of the plug-ins does not have the permission to save the license file in user mode (that's why all of you are launching the program in admin mode.. but it's not necessary).

Just give access to your user a total control by the folder proprieties then you will not have this problem again.

That's working with many of another programs with add-ons or plug-ins that need permissions to write inside it's installdir.
