Hi. I have CorelDRAW X4 SP2 installed in a Windows 7 x64 machine. How do I upgrade to X5? Do I have to uninstall X4 and then install X5 or can I install X5 over X4?
Thanks for your tips!
CorelDRAW is not an upgrade of X4, is a differente program and you must install it on a separate folder. You can have both, and you don't need to uninstall X4. Remember that still is only a TRIAL version, which will be expired on a few days.
Thanks a lot for your fast answer!
If I have both X4 and X5 installed, aren't there more chances of bugs or interferences between the two applications?
I thought that X5 was indeed an upgrade to X4, like Office 2010 is an upgrade to 2007.
Cheers!
It will make a new directory for X5, X4 will still work and I wouldn't rush to remove it just yet, but it will likely break the association between Draw and PP when you try to edit a bitmap in Draw.
There are a few issues that have been noticed opening old files in X5. You might want to give yourself a bit of room for the transition. I haven't noticed many with X4 files but going back earlier pre the new layers might have occasional issues.
There have been a few issues with the betas but I've used the last betas and GM for work without any horrible occurrences. Not seen anything that will break a work flow when it started in X5. You need to make your own judgements and get back here if you hit an issue ASAP as does everyone.
Maybe some issues with Connect that are OS dependent.
Work safe and SaveAs a lot and you can't go wrong.

Thanks a lot for your tips!

There's any problem for having both versions at the same time. If you uninstall X5 and have any problem with X4 just insert the DVD and choose "Repair"
