Hi,
I recently upgraded from X4 to X5 and have started encountering the following error on some files when trying to open them. "CorelDRAW encountered an improper argument."
This tends to occur about 'halfway' through the loading progress bar and results in a dead corelDRAW which I have to close before opening any other file, along with the offending file being completely unable to be opened!
These files were originally created in X4, but have been updated and saved in X5.
There is no error message when saving the file initially.
Is this a file corruption? Something to do with X4>X5 upgrade or what? The backup file is generally also stuffed.
Unfortunately the files are some 70mb each and can't be emailed in for testing. The problem is not re-creatable and occurs at random.
Anyone else experiencing this? Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately there is still no solution to this problem here.
I have the same problem, but only when working editing text after I have print merged a bunch of data. Any guesses as to how I can fix that?

Not very hopeful since I see how old this thread is and the fact that Corel has not removed a bug that is now over 4 years old. Guess this answers my questions as to whether or not I will finally be joining the satanic cloud... I mean, Creative Cloud. Way to go, Corel. I'd like my $400 back.
Anyways, my improper argument error message happens when I try to use the shaping command 'Back Minus Front' or vice versa. Obviously, a bug with no remedy. I f any Corel employee reads this, I am using version X7 and the bug STILL EXISTS! LOL There's a company that really cares.
Now where are all those other people who attacked me a few weeks ago, claiming how great this software was? I would like to hear more from them.
