I get this error message when trying to open a PDF in CorelDraw X6: There was an error while decoding a stream. Any idea what might cause this?
I know it's not much help but I just tried to "open" a pdf that I created that is password protected. I type in the password and get that same error. I typically don't "open" pdf files directing in Corel. I always import them. Unfortunatey I get the same error message when importing that same file. I can import other pdf files without errors though.
Thanks Myron,
The PDF I tried to open isn't password protected. I get the same error message when I try to import it as I get when I try to open it.
I'm able to open the PDF with Adobe Reader. I tried saving the file from Reader and opening in Corel Draw. That didn't work either.
Sometimes Illustrator will do the trick. Load, resave as pdf from Illustrator. I also frequently have problems with pdfs in X3, especially from files that started out as Illustrator or some later version of DRAW or from a Taiwanese or Chines sources with hidden exotic fonts. Usually the problems are major misrendering of shadows or other effects. The usual solution is to resave the file as Draw 10, open it in D10 and create a new pdf. Usually that works, altho it loses a lot of editing capability, and the colors are not the same.
