Joining nodes in x5

I am considering upgrading to X5 because I have been told there is a new tool to help join nodes into a solid fillable object. I have many drawings that have been sent to me in .dxf format wherin all nodes are broken. I use X4 currently and can individually join nodes in order to get an object "joined" and will fill. In order to do this it often takes many hours of selecting each set of seperate nodes and joining them . When all objects will fill then then I save the .dxf in native.cdr format.

My question for you kind folks is this tool really good for joining nodes and making a fillable object or is it hype?

    Hi.

A part of this commercial macro  joins or connects all nodes that are close within a tolerance.

It was Jeff's great idea to add the feature.

I really don't know any other way to do it at once.

Are they made up of numerous adjacent triangles like the example uploaded at the top of http://community.coreldraw.com/forums/t/28642.aspx ?

For that, the weld (available in X4) seemed to do a reasonable job without needing to join any nodes.

  • I Know this is an old post & most have upgraded to later versions (except me)...

The Smart fill tool does a great job of joining all the nodes in X4.
