Hi there, new member. Using Corel DRAW 9 to produce some graphics for panel engraving.
Trying to get an infinity symbol in there as text.
I am using the Avant Garde BK font. I have tried copy and pasting an infinity ∞ symbol with no luck, have also tried the alt+236 shortcut (as used in the above line) but that just produces an 8 (with non equal top and bottom humps).
The same font in OpenOffice produces a proper infinity symbol (equal size loops/humps) with alt+236.
What am I missing here? Can Corel import that sign? Hope you guys can help.
Thanks Tom
The Symbol font that you might have in your CD9 fonts folder has it. It's number 165 in my list.
Or just copy from OO the infinity symbol and paste it in to CD.
the 'dd'
Hi thanks for the reply.
I didn't install the fonts from the CD so have just gone back and installed them all.
I have a Symbols folder there. Will check it. Does you font have a name, or is it just called 'Symbols'?
Thanks again

Oh BTW, copy and pasting left me with a ? in Corel, so I figured it didn't like that symbol...
Tried copy and paste again, no joy. Can't find the symbol in any of the other fonts either.
Hmmm
I don't know if you can do this in Version 11.
The work around is to type the number '8' and use the shape tool and rotate that character 90 degrees.
I've tried inserting that character in X4 but it shows up as an adobe font.
Attached is a CDR file save in Version 11 you may want to look at.
Hope it helps. Or if not someone else may have a solution.
