I'm running on a fairly new Dell Studio laptop computer with Windows 7 Pro as the OS.
The font was installed using the normal install font directions.
As stated above the font works fine in Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft Word.
It shows as installed in Corel Draw font menu but will not print when trying to type, the curser just blinks.
I know a number of other people have had this same problem, I hope by now there is an answer.
I also have 2 desktop computers running Windows XP Pro OS where the font works perfectly in all programs.
Hope there is an answer to this problem.
Thank you
When you say "custom font", what do you mean?
And what format is the font? Type 1? ttf? something else?
It's a font I had made specially for my business by an experianced fontographer.
The font comes in two different versions True Type and Open Type.
Corel Draw 11 does not work with either.
The font may be 16 bit rather than 8 bit. If I memory serves me correctly (that in itself is doubtful), Corel 11 has no idea what to do with 16 bit fonts. Adobe does.
If that were true then the font wouldn't work in my desktop computers running Windows XP, right??

No, it is application dependent, if it is usable ("working") or not.
Let me try to explain the problem again.
I had Corel Draw 11 loaded on my 2 desktop computers running Windows XP Pro.
I then had a custom font created by a reputable fontographer for my business in both TTF and OTF.
The font worked perfectly in all programs in this envirnment.
I then purchased a new dell laptop running Windows 7 Pro.
I loaded my Corel Draw 11 into this new computer.
I added the newest version of Adobe Illustrator onto this new computer.
I then loaded the font in question.
The custom font only would work in the Adobe & Microsoft Word programs but not in Corel Draw 11.
You could see the font listed in the Corel Draw font menu but when you selected it to type all the cursor would do is blink with no characters typing out.
Hope this helps to define what the problem is.

Ya know, I read that in the original post, but when trying to think of a possible cause to the problem my brain ran of the track and I did not realize it. May not be the font. I will have to think further. .
Are there any other fonts you have installed that have the same symptoms?
