Cannot Scan with either Corel draw x6 / Corel PhotoPaint. The icon is not highlighted
I have the same issue, X6 Draw and PhotoPaint
I have installed the latest drivers from Epson website, no joy.
I have also contacted Corel support, will see what they suggest.
I also run Photoshop 64-bit, and the scanner works fine with that.
Same here Epson 64 bit drivers no go in Corel x6. I see you also digitize.
I've been using Corel draw over 20 years now. (I believe since late 80's)
running a silkscreen, and embroidery/ Sign shop.
Graphtec plotters, Melco embroidery machines, and M&R Automatic presses.

AND, observe you can have installed and simultaniously run the X6 32 bit & 64 bit versions on the same computer.
Your Photoshop is that a 64 bit or 32 bit version?
Corel have stated a solution will come 2nd part of this year.During this period there is a solution for direct scanning through CorelDRAW & PP using a Macro/User Control programmed by Softbotz for a very small and fair fee through this transition period while Corel solve the situation for us.
Also you should check, if you dont like Softbot excellent macro/yser control, if Epson have a Scanner Software like Canon has, where you can scan using THEIR scanning software on a 64 bit computer. You then assign the program to open the scan in CorelDRAW or PP.
So you can scan
I have a open support case regarding this issue, I have an Epson Artisan 835 that prints fine but I am not able to scan with it using X6 64-bit.
As Stefan has indicated, 32-bit works fine.

My preference would be not to have both versions of X6 on my computer.
My Adobe software is supposed to be 64-bit. (the x64 in the splash screen would suggest that)
I have also contacted Epson, just in case it was a problem on their end, and the response I was given was it is a Corel issue.
Currently, I am using X5 to scan images then import into X6, adds a little extra time to workflow, not elegant but workable.
When the update comes out, hopefully all will be well.
On Friday, I received an update regarding my support case that would suggest this will be the case.

A similar scanner, the Epson Perfection 300, is installed on our Lenovo test machine, also with the latest driver and scanner software.Please be informed that this is a bug and has been reported. Please visit our website regularly for latest updates.

A standard, and stupid, manufacturer answer. And thing is partly this: Epson, HP and Canon support/customer service employees may THINK the drivers are fully 64 bit, but they are not.
I got a similar answer from Canon last year when I started to discover this issue, and as I wrote on my blog.
Scanner manufactures at best have supplied a 32 bit program that installes on a 64 bit computer. This program of theirs, in Canon´s case its called "MP Navigator", simply allow you to use the 32 bit program to scan, and then allow you to ask their MP Navigator program to have the scanned image opened in either CorelDRAW, Photo-Paint, Photoshop and whatever 64 bit program you use.

I can't blame the customer service person I spoke to as they didn't write the code. They are only telling me what the the company tells them i.e. it is a 64-bit driver. When they should say it is 32-bit driver that is 64-bit compatible. Until we get to the point where 64-bit OS's will only allow 64-bit programs/drivers to be installed, we will continue to have these sorts of issues from time to time.

I agree entirely.
I can't blame the customer service person I spoke to as they didn't write the code.
They are only telling me what the the company tells them i.e. it is a 64-bit driver.
When they should say it is 32-bit driver that is 64-bit compatible.
Until we get to the point where 64-bit OS's will only allow 64-bit programs/drivers to be installed, we will continue to have these sorts of issues from time to time.

And I agree with you too :-)
Its a classic lack of proper internal communication at many companies, big or small.
Two months ago I both called on phone as well as sent email to a former client. When I finally called via their switchboard they connected me saying "She seems to have gone for lunch or something and forgotten to make the "out for lunch setting" on her phone. And so I called again and emailed again, only to once again call via their switchboard to finally connect me with someone else of her closest collegues, maybe they new where she was and could take a message.
When I talked with her collegues they told me she had retired September last year.
The staff at the switchboard was as baffled like I was. Crazy. And thats whats going on about false 64 bit drivers in my opinion among scanner manufacturers. CorelDRAW and Photo-Paint have no problem of scanning as long as the drivers from manufacturers have full and truly 64 bit support.
Now, Corel know about this fact and have publically said they will sort this for us and create a solution that works for us despite the lack of 64 bit drivers from scanner manufacturers.
