Hi I have Corel 9.. I drew a map at full size 22 x 7.5 To get it to Photoshop I exported it. Saved it at 300 dpi 1 to 1. as a tif. When I get it to Photoshop and check the image size it is 157 dpi at 14 x 3. I need it full size at about 400 dpi as a tif.. If I kick the dpi up to 600 it gets a bit larger, do I just keep enlarging the dpi until it is the size I want?. I thought a drawing would come over as a large file.. What dpi is the drawing in Corel draw? . Am I bringing it across wrong.?.
Thanks for any help, this is to put in a book so I need a high resolution..

The best resolution for mapping stuff is to leave as vector objects if possible. Convert all text to curves, and then save as PDF/EPS and send to printer. Then you'll get 600-2450 DPI automatically, and the value depends on the output device used.
For a bitmap, ensure that your all settings are as you expect in Draw during export, just before pressing the OK button, some figures can change on you.
good call jeff, also i've noticed it drop my dps a lot too, i dont know if thats the compression ratio or just different program language nonsense :-P too much for my artist brain either way
if you have a hard time getting multiple layers of complex items exporting as an eps/pdf, try breaking it up and exporting in pieces w/ a marker for alignment.
i would suggest you upgrading x3, its just so solid, it really takes me ALOT! to break it, and the export options are a bit higher for cs products. It also exports straight as photo shop really nicely, it does rasterize all my type but it seems good quality and will retain your objects layers as photoshop layers, and i've never had an adobe exclusive print house not print my work without great results. pdf's are also usually really good in and outta coreldraw
Thanks for your reply and help. I will give it a try.
