Hi, I am a brand new user of X6, I had previously been using X3 which has been wonderfully stable. So far I really like X6 accept for one issue:
When I open a file the program crashes. It doesn't matter what file, they all cause the program to crash. It seems that X6 just cannot create the work environment unless it starts from scratch.
The solution I have found is to start a new document first and THEN open the file I want. After that, everything is fine. I can open any files I want all day with no crashes. Kind of weird, but what the heck..at least it works. By the way, my files are typically small (less than 2MB) composed of a few jpegs, some text, and some simple vector shapes.
I am using the 64 bit version of X6 on a 64 bit pc running Windows professional with 8GB ram.
Hi everybody, a similar problem, I am running CorelDraw x6 64 bit on a win 7 64 bit 8 gb ram 8 core processor machine. One machine that I use have x6 64 bit on win7 64 bit and the other one x5 32 bit on a win7 32 bit.I saved the work in x5 x4 and x3 versions on this machine; but the files I 'saved as' never open in any other machine except on x6 64 bit/32 bit machines. I tried opening them in x5 32 bit on win 7 32 bit but the files are not opening. the x6 64 bit files saved in above versions perfectly open in x6 32 bit; but not a single file that I saved in on x6 64 bit open in x5 32 bit. Can any body suggest how to solve the issue? Thanks
I found out from another Corel user who is having these issues. Is that when opening up x6, its looking for a printer? Not sure of the source, but the solution was to create a dummy printer and default it to x6 or default a printer that is constantly on. I haven't tried it yet, but hopefully there is some truth this.
The crash problems I am having are opening up x5 files with x6, I get the "problem sending this command" error. I even sometimes get x6 files having problems opening up.
There was also mention of having more than one version of Corel, but I have had no problems like this when I was running x4 and x5. I had the normal crashes of x5.
