We already have a "Save Bitmap As" option in the Bitmap Context menu (Right-click a bitmap > Save Bitmap As). Can we have this option to save the bitmap as it is; same pixels, color mode…? Instead of Edit bitmap and Save As from Corel PHOTO-PAINT.
So this option will retain the bitmap properties, while selecting the bitmap and Export selected re-builds the bitmap in the new properties set in the Export and Convert to Bitmap dialogs.

Yes, you do.
Jeff Harrison said:It seems you want to get the file out of Draw without damage/change to any of these above existing parameters?
Jeff Harrison said:You just want to see a new file on disk with those same parameters?
Yes.
Jeff Harrison said: Concerns/options: 1. CM be applied or not? Perhaps check box to choose. 2. If transparency applied, it will have to be rendered into the export, no other way AFAICT... 3. Output formats... color model is automatically chosen. I suggest TIFF (with LZW), since it supports RGB/CMYK/GRAY/MONO and 8-bit alpha. What do you think?
Most of the concerns are already existing when you Save As or Export from PHOTO-PAINT. What will happen when you create an RGB bitmap in PHOTO-PAINT, and Save As GIF?

Instead of Edit Bitmap > Launch PHOTO-PAINT > Save As, Right-click > Save Bitmap As
So Save Bitmap As will retain:
What do you think?

I think for ease of user understanding, whatever the color model a bitmap currently is on Draw's page is the one it will be for export. Otherwise we're repeating too many things that Draw's regular export already does.
Ahmad Ajlouny said: Pixels Color Mode (If the selected output format supports it) Alpha (Not CorelDRAW transparency?) DPI (depends on the bitmap scale i.e. same DPI inside CorelDRAW Page)
For color models, Tiff supports everything so I think that is best choice.
Alpha... there's no such thing as "live transparency" in any bitmap, so the CorelDRAW transparency must be rendered. Or ignored altogether.
CM... maybe you confuse color mode with color management in my post before.
So, workflow:
user selects bitmap, runs macro, sees this:
2 check boxes, both checked by default IMO:
[__] Apply Color Management
[__] Convert Transparency to Alpha
Save dialog appears for location / file name
result appears on disk.

I meant transparency saved within the bitmap as distinct from CorelDRAW's transparency applied with Interactive Transparency tool or the Lens docker.
If user wants CorelDRAW's transparency in the output, he can use the Export command. I.e. "Save Bitmap As" extracts pixels.

I think I did understand you correctly, but I didn't mention CM. I talked about Color Mode (Color Model). Your CM and box would be a great option.

Ok, I see. So Draw's transp tools not used at all then.
It's true a bitmap on Draw's page can have pre-existing alpha when brought in, and preservation of this should be supported.

Yes, in my first post I meant CM as color management, Color Model as Color Model. LOL
