I need some help. I have slides in powerpoint that I need to turn into booklets. The printing company I used to work with simply asked for my ppt files and they somehow opened them in corel and edited them. I'm not working with that same printer anymore... I've hired a corel draw guy to help me, but unfortunately, his is not able to open my powerpoint files. We tried saving the files to pdf, we still couldnt open them in corel draw. We're using version 12.

I suggest you should use X4 version of DRAW as it has a very powerful PDF engine. Alternatively, you can create a PRN or PS file from the PPT and then import it in DRAW.
But remember, PS, PRN, EPS or PDF are not intended for using those for editing. However, DRAW allows you to import it for editing but then you need to be alert to check whether every thing is imported well in DRAW

You or your Corel guy may have to use Microsoft PowerPoint to open the files and then selecting each "image" with a right mouse click and use Save As to save each image. Or perhaps you have the the "slides" you used the create the PPT files.
As Anand says in his post, CorelDraw X4 will import PPT files. I don't believe any earlier version will, but I am not sure about that.

At least, I can quit trying with this version 12. I will try though to import from PRN. Lets see what happens. Thanks!!

PPT import filter is available in X3 even. Not sure of Version 12. I personally have not used it except for just testing. Not for any kind of commercial jobs. So not sure how it works.

Here's what's weird about importing PPT files. I recall an earlier version, 9 maybe, that would import PPT beautifully. Fonts, graphics, everything maintained. In 12 I don't think there is even a filter available for PPT files. Perhaps Microsoft has changed Powerpoint such that it is not as easy as it used to be, perhaps having to do with animation or something. Anyway it seems that PPT is now harder to work with than it used to be.
