Somehow I changed the behavoir of selecting objects in CorelCad. Typically I'll start with something like 'copy' and then select an item and then another until I've finished selecting items.
Someplace I changed this in a way that requires me to hold down the shift key or each time I attempt to add a new item to the selection group the previous item(s) are cleared.
Anyone know what option I slipped up on? I can't find it for the life of me. My other machine behaves just fine.

Try the Entity selection method button in the Properties palette:
By default it's set for adding objects to the selection. You may have changed it to replacing the existing selection with every new selection:
...click on the button again to toggle between the 2 selection modes.
