When you place an object in a table cell, can you auto make the object the size of the cell. Or do you have resize the object by hand. I been doing it by hand and wondered if there was any type of short cut I am missing.
ThanksKimberly
Hi Kimberly,
I have a free macro here - it is the 2nd last macro on the page called Brian Davies Copy Shape Size. It can resize your object to the dimensions of the table cell. The macro copies the dimensions from one object and applies it to one or many other objects, at the click of a button. The table cell is the object you will choose to copy dimensions from. To select the cell - Ctrl+Click it. Then use the macro to copy its dimensions and apply them to your object(s).
Now that you have raised this query I will make a new macro to both copy the size and place it in a selected cell automatically. I will do this when I get a chance and I will let you know when it is done.
Best regards,
Brian.
Hi Brian,
It's such a handy macro and I love using it. However the thing that I don't get is why it asks to group the source objects. I think it should just copy the size from any selected objects grouped or not. Or is there any specific reason of it's current behaviour that I am missing?
Thanks, I will down it. It has been a while sine I been this site. I have to look around and see what is new.
Kmberly
Hi Aleem,
first of all thank you for your kind words. I have now fixed the behaviour you speak of - I have removed the message regarding only being able to select a single source object and I have changed the code to allow the macro to read the dimensions of the bounding box around several selected objects. Thanks for pointing this out to me. I would have had a reason for doing so at the time, but I cannot remember what is was.
I will forward the amended version to Jeff Harrison right away!
Best regards,Brian.
