I just got a new computer, everything worked fine until I installed my Corel Draw X4.... now my Apps no longer work and a lot of other things are going wrong.... any ideas?
X4 is not intended to work in windows 8.1 -- although there may be other users here who have managed to make it work in compatibility mode who can advise how to do it.
If uninstalling CorelDraw does not get your windows back to the state it was, you probably need to do a windows system restore.
What are the "apps" that do not work, and are they fully updated ? If possible, it might be worth reinstalling some of them before you try the system restore.
Thanks for the reply..... My new computer came with a lot of pre-instlalled Apps, but because of Corel X4, None of the Apps work, every single one of them. I click on any one of them, and it looks as if the App might be starting by displaying a full screen Icon of the App, but then it just goes away and my desktop comes into view... no error reporting, nothing, as if I had never clicked on anything. I was told by the MSI guy (it's an MSI laptop) that I would have to restore my system, which I've had less than a week. I did, and then everything worked like it should. I re-installed Corel Draw X4 and bam, Apps no longer work. Not only the Apps, parts of Internet explorer don't work (I guess IE uses some Apps in webpages?) and a few other things don't work.... SO, Is there a version of Corel Draw that works with Windows 8.1? Is there a way that I can make my Apps work and keep X4? I read something about Corel Draw and GUIs, but it involved registry files and I'm not that competent to screw around with that stuff..
X6 and X7 are both intended to work in windows 8.1. You can download a 30 day trial of X7 to check it.
