Dear Forum Members,
I have EPS art that displays with vibrant colors when I view the art in either IrfranView or Adobe Illustrator. However, when I import the same art into CorelDraw X6 all the colors display as dull and not at all vibrant like the other two apps.
Obviously, it's a color management issue. I have spent 1 hour tweaking Corel Draw Color Management setting with no success. I thought changing all "Import and Paste Settings" to "Use Embedded Color Profile" would do the trick however dull colors still persist.
In short, I would really welcome anyone out there who knows how to correctly adjust Corel Draw X6 colors to post in this thread. My goal is to get Corel Draw X6 colors to match what I see in IrfranView and Adobe Illustrator.
Thank you in advance for any help.
Is your CorelDraw document in RGB color mode when you import the EPS? I am suspecting the EPS is an RGB color model.
MikeWe and Mike Canada,
Thanks for you postings. I tried both of your suggestions and I'm still getting the same dull colors in X6.
Corel Draw X6. Please note the Dull beige color the rose pedals have.
Adobe Illustrator 5.5 Below:
In contrast the rose pedals below import in a more vibrant color:

I followed the instructions shown below:
We need to make some changes in this dialogue box. First of all we should typically be working in RGB so make this change (1). Next we need to change the colour engine to None (2) Uncheck map to CMYK (3). I change my spot color definition to to RGB (4). The first 4 are for Laser people. The next 4 are for sublimation users. For opening jobs I change RGB color space jobs to default color profile (5). For CMYK I use Assign Default Color Profile (6). Import and Paste I leave as they are (7) (8). If you want to use different setups for different devices you can choose to save the Preset and give it a name (9).
Unfortunately, the same dull X6 dull color problem persists even after I followed the instructions above to the letter.
I thought changing the color engine setting to "NONE" would do the trick but it doesn't fix the problem.
I would appreciate it tremendously if anyone out there could download the same Rose EPS clip art file I am working with. It's available for free in the link below:

Just click on the BLUE download link and you will get an EPS of the same rose art shown above.
Can anyone out there please download the same EPS art file I have and test it out on their own X6 install and then let me know if they get the dull colors or the vibrant colors? If vibrant color results are displayed on your X6 install please share your color management settings in this thread so everyone can benefit.
Thanks in advance.

I believe this is a transparency issue with EPS, AI is opening it as an Adobe Illustrator EPS not a true EPS, save the same AI file as an AI format or a PDF and try importing those.
Yep. The gradients in that EPS file get messed up coming into CDX6 and CDX7.
Seeing how you evidently have AI, save an AI version and open or import that into X6. I am using AI CS6 and the AI file opens or imports fine into CDX6.
