I am logged in with a.Standard Membership as confirmed by the icon in Corel Draw X6.1. I've tried every way I know to run the 6.4 Update. Regardless of how I initiate the file, i.e. from the dialog after Corel Draw closes or as an administrator from a Web download, I get about 10% of the way through the installation process; and then I get a dialog box stating that the "Corel Installation Program has stopped working." I click "Close Program" to quit the attempt.
I am running a Dell Inspiron Desktop 3000 Series Model 3847, Intel Core i3-4150 X64 @ 3.5GHz, 8 GB RAM, Windows 8.1. All patches and drivers are up to date. Can anyone suggest a way to get this update to load?
Hello Gerry; What I would do IS make sure the file down loaded and with no programs running and the fire wall turned off load the 6.2 file first then you can try the 6.4 and see if that doesn't help. Good Luck......
George
Dear George,
You have a great idea, but I could not locate a copy of update 6.2 for download. I solved my problem, though, by upgrading to CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X7.
For anyone with a similar problem I may have found the answer. After loading Graphics Suite X7, I set about uninstalling Suite X6 and discovered that I inadvertently had both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions installed. The 32-bit version on my machine was X6.4, so that update had registered. I suspect that it interfered with my attempts to update the 64-bit version X6.1 to X6.4. I now have only the 64-bit version of X7 installed; and all is well.
Best regards,
Gerry
Hello Gerry; I have had the 32 and the 64 bit installed on this computer at the same time, at one time you couldn't scan into the 64 bit ver, I have X4, X6 64 bit and X7 64 bit installed now just incase something happenes I will still be able to get work out. You like X7 it is better than X6.
