I need to do a fair amount of deep etching of peoples photographs - removing the background from these photos using cut out lab is very laborious - specially as it gives many problems removing the background from between hair blowing in the wind.
The program Vertus Fluid Mask apparently does a very good and fast job, had a look at their site, seems very good, but it is made to be used with photoshop a program I do not know. They sell it as a stand alone product as well -
Has anyone experience using this product? If not Has anyone experience with a product that works well with Corel graphics suite?
Anxious to hear,
Hans
I don't see it around anymore but "Knockout" which was purchased by Corel years ago worked pretty good. I have a copy on an old machine here, Wonder if Corel will be getting back to that? I remember beta testing that and it rocked then, wispy hair, transparent drinking glasses. Did take some work.
Thank you all for the assistance and for the interest -
My request for a different method to the cut out lab is to find a time saving tool. I am going to look at all the suggested programs.
I take a photograph of an African against a single color background (white) and take out the background. This is laborious when using cut out lab - Fluid Mask does it in one swoop - it is an excellent program for my purpose. So my aim is to include this in my tools - will be downloading its trial version.
I now import the "Deep etched" picture into PP pro and adjust the contrasts and actual lightness of the pic - which at this time has been converted to a grey scale pic.
The pic adjustments are necessary as I engrave the African head and shoulders onto a black background.
Hi Phil, yes to the question about 1937.
Love learning new things - my quest for knowledge in Corel Photo Paint pro stems from my time in the graphics industry as Operations director of an Ad agency. Now I have bought myself a CNC rock engraver so all these photo questions are related to my latest toy, hoping to turn it into a profitable hobby.
Love a good challenge!
