I am working on a CD digipak design using Corel Draw 4 (I believe that is the version I have). The only snag I have run into is one area where I am drawing a straight line. It looks perfectly straight in the Corel application, but when I export to a pdf (as required by the CD manufacturer), part of the line comes out segmented as shown in the attached graphic. When drawing the line, I did use either the 'shift' or 'ctrl' key to assure it was drawn as as a straight vertical line. The issue seems to be with the export. The segment is slight, but it's enough to bother me. Any suggestions are appreciated.
Hello davarm: Use the Shape Tool select the line and remove any nodes that are in between the ends, then on the upper menu bar for the Shape Tool select the stright line icon. and that should do it.

I think your line may be behind a transparent bitmap.
If it is, then if the PDF preset you are using does not support transparency, it may be necessary to render part of the vector objects behind the image as bitmaps too. This can give a discontinuity (in colour, in position, or sometimes both) at the edge of the original bitmap.
In this particular case, it may be sufficient to bring your line to the front.It will then be rendered after the transparent bitmap rather than through it.
In other cases, you may have the colour shift problem -- usually happening if your bitmap has vector objects behind it and the bitmap uses a different colour mode.
One way to deal with that is to wait until you are ready to print and then flatten the transparent image into its background (ie, select the image and whatever is behind it and do bitmaps > convert to bitmap without the transparency option. You may need to move the result behind other objects, or in some cases you may need to include those objects in the flattening to preserve the correct order. But try to avoid including small text or fine lines in the flattening -- they should stay as vectors and be moved to front. Also remember to save an unflattened copy of the CDR file in case you need to do any further editing.
A second option, which avoids the need to flatten, is to use a PDF preset that supports transparency. But you need to check whether your printer will support it. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transparency_(graphic)#Transparency_in_PDF for a bit more information about that.
