When I start up CorelDRAW X5, after resetting the PC, it takes 28 seconds to open completely (new blank document, as my preference). However, if I close the X5 (without resetting the PC) and I reopen (several times), it takes ONLY 4 seconds. Why so difference time?
Caching of code by the OS. Cleaver no.
Excuse my ignorance, but I did not understand what that means. So with the second e-mail (below) I received. Clicking on the links, nothing happens ... (Links refers to this same page)

The first time a program runs the information from the hard disk is written to the temporary memory. Retrieving information from the hard disk is slow (relatively). Retrieving information from the temporary memory or cache is much faster. Since the information has been written to the cache during the very first start up subsequent start ups will be much faster.
If you use the program alot the windows prefetch will help intial startup times.
Hope this helps.
