is there a way to save a set of adjustments (e.g. Contrast, Saturation, Sharpness) and apply them to multiple images as a batch job? I could do this in my raw converter, but as I don´t do raw anymore I would like to use PP X5 to batch adjust neutrally exposed jpegs.

You may need to write a macro for that.
Yes you can, but I am against it, because each image has its own problems and goals.
Open Recorder docker and record all the steps you want to. Save the script.
Run PP batch funtionality under the File menu using saved script.
