CPU usage and slow to load graphics

i too have experienced corel to be a resource hog... moreso than x14. my pc is now telling me i have a critically low virtual memory.

i have deleted programmes on the c drive i don't use, deleted temp files, did disc cleanups and defrags etc... it still is heavy on the resources. i can work, it is just worrying. i know i slow the programme down with all the fonts installed, but i need those and x4 worked great with them.

what can speed it up or should i forget having firefox and x5 open together?

Don't keep open X4 and X5 at the same time.

By the way, did you checked Tools/Options/Workspace/Memory? There are settings for Draw memory usage that needs to be set...

That setting does nothing. it's just a remnant of previous versions built for earlier versions of windows. NOw removed in X5 because Windows automatically allocates memory to applications.

I believe the user has a problem with memory indeed. The video software probably used alot of the available memory. That's why Draw will run slow immediately after.
