Adding text to a drawing for a cutting file (SVG)

I'm new to corel, I'm using it to create files for my CNC router. I have this file, and I want to add a letter. I thought I could do this using the "weld" feature. However, It doesn't work when I try to cut it, the edges of the letter aren't welded to the sides of the mason jar. Can anyone help me?

Hello aspikes; Try typing your letter that you want to add then size it and then Combine it to what ever you want it to be joined with. You could also just put the letter in and select what you want it to be part of and Group them. I Hope this helps, if you need to you can send me the file and I'll put it in for you.

Thanks George, I wasn't familiar with the "combine" feature. I'll try that today when I get back to the shop. I'm new to all of this!

You can usually weld a letter to a shape:

by selecting both objects and doing object > shaping > weld :

If it does not work, the problem is likely to be in the object you are welding it to. If you cannot find an object to weld to, could you upload the CDR file of one of those jars for testing?
