Looking for tips and advice when making a GIF with PP. I'm working on a really simple one, I have a background, and I have an object that I want to move into the frame, then back out of the frame. Then loop.
Do I really have to combine the moving object with the back ground EVERY single frame?
Is there a way to say take this object over this many frames and move it from here to there?
Is there a way to save the position of the object in each frame without combining it to the background each time? I'd like to set it, go to the next frame, move it, go to the next frame, move it, repeat.

That is the nature of a Animated GIF It is just a "package" of single frames that switch from one to another. You can when saving tell it to just save the changes from frame to frame. This will reduce the size some what. To do what you want, as I did you need to get a animation package. I use Smith Micro Anime 7 they have a 9 out but 7 so far will do what I want. I create in PhotoPaint save as a png file bring the elements into the animation and use their tools to make it look how I want then export as a Movie or Flash. Then IF I really want it as a gif I run it through a conversion.
That ALL said. If I'm making a gif for a small project I just do it in PHOTOPAINT. If you have X5 you got a copy of SWISH minimax that will also give you a output in Flash format.
