When I double-click a .cdr file CorelDraw opens but the file doesn't. I just get an empty workspace as if I had opened Draw & closed the welcome screen.
Anyone else seen this?

Maybe you are trying to open/import a job made in earlier version file into older one. Example: X4 do not opens file from X5 (if so, you must down save it)

I've had that happen a lot too. I can't trace it down to anything yet. Seems random. Sometimes the same file will work, sometimes it won't. I'm running X5 on Windows xp.
Also, if you install a previous version after having installed a newer version the program will open in the latest installed version .

Thanks Silvio, but this time that's not the case, the problem is happening in X5.

I'm also using XP. I did edit my original post, right as you posted your response. I'll see what happens with a repair.
PhotoPaint files open as expected, but .cdr files (doesn't seem to matter which version they were created in) are not.

Right... And since X5 was the last version I installed that is not the problem.
