This is a long shot, I don't think that it is a Corel issue, but are any of you having problems with Windows 7, Corel x6 and fonts that won't stay installed? Right now I can't keep Times New Roman installed. It randomly deletes. It might be there for a day, or an hour or 10 minutes. I've also noticed this with Bodoni and Arial but to lesser extents. Right now Times New Roman shows up in Word and Corel, but not in Outlook. In outlook Times New Roman Bold Italic is substituted for normal
It might be a general Windows problem, but I can't find a solution and thought I'd ask here.
I've also noticed some weird behavior with fonts and Windows 7/x64. Some (non-system-fonts) even cannot be uninstalled once installed - needs some registry hacking. I had no issues with core fonts like Times New Roman or Arial though.
Yesterday I had to uninstall/reinstall a fresh installed "Open Sans"* to be fully functional with all weights. (*recommended free font btw!)We have also tried several font managers for this problem - most make things worse.
I also haven't found any solution yet. Just a suspicion:I need to have some applications running in Windows 7's XP-virtualization mode for stability reasons.The both systems do not communicate very well when it comes to installed fonts. Maybe the "guest" XP interferes here with the Win 7 host system. But that's just guessing. Do you run applications in XP-mode?
I also don't consider this CorelDRAW related. We have same issues on Corel-free systems as well.
Hello Mike; Weeeeeelllllllll noiw that you mention it YEA I had a little trouble with fonts. But I thought I had done it to myself, I went to move my font dir. to a faster drive. Copping the dir. wasn't any problem but when I tried to delete the old dir. it wouldn't delete, Helveti8, TAHOMA, TIMESBD wouldn't delete and they didn't copy to the new dir. either. It said the files were in use, the only thing open was Windows Explore and it is using Arial? The font dir. is only used for Font Nav. When I went to Font Nav. to point to the new drive it was full of OT fonts that I didn't put there? If you come up with a answer please post what you found.

I'm bringing this back up because I think it might (I am being cautious with that word) be related to CorelDraw now. I've noticed the problem happens AFTER I Publish to PDF. Now, that could still be a problem with Acrobat when it opens the PDF, I don't know. If anyone else is having this problem I'd love to hear about it. Today I opened a file that requires it, and it was missing, but Corel didn't tell me it was missing.
It might be 2 different problems or at least, not entirely CorelDraw.
I've had fonts magically uninstall and not just in CorelDraw. Publishing to PDF has no effect that I can see. But like Juergen wrote, I do use Win7 64 and that has a number of oddities I can't explain. There are times I wish I'd stayed on XP ...

I think Corel is aggravating the problem but might not be at direct fault.
