I've asked this question before but didn't get an answer and thought I'd
try again:
Can anyone tell me if installing both the 32 and 64 bit versions will
use up 2 of the allotted 3 installs?

Thanks so much!

As far as my logic goes. Yes. It will be counted as 2 installs. Why ? Because you will be installing, registering and activating both with single serial key. I don't think Corel allows multiple installs with single key for each version.

Thank you. I find that a bit disturbing since I won't be able to run
both on 2 machines. It seems that the 64 bit has issues that the 32 bit
doesn't have, but the 64 bit has benefits over the 32 bit. Oh well.

According to the license you are allowed to install the software on up to three computers for CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X6.

The relevant part is copied below (all caps is from the original text in the license):

PRIVATE AND BUSINESS USERS OF AFTERSHOT, COREL CAPTURE, COREL CONNECT, COREL WEBSITE CREATOR, CORELDRAW, COREL DESIGNER, CORELCAD, COREL OFFICE, COREL PAINTER, COREL PDF FUSION, PAINTSHOP PRO, PAINTSHOP PHOTO PRO, PARADOX, COREL PHOTO-PAINT, PRESENTATIONS, QUATTRO PRO, AND WORDPERFECT THAT HAVE MULTIPLE COMPUTING DEVICES (E.G., STAND-ALONE COMPUTER, LAP-TOP AND MINI/PORTABLE PC), MAY DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL ANY OF THESE SOFTWARE PRODUCTS ON UP TO THREE (3) SYSTEMS IN A SINGLE ADDRESS, HOWEVER IT CAN ONLY BE USED BY YOU ON ONE (1) SYSTEM AT A TIME.

Because the license does not state that you can only activate the 32-bit or 64-bit version with the license key per computer it seems logical to me that if the software installs both the 32-bit and 64-bit it counts as one activation because the activation seems to be per computer, but if you want to be absolutely sure you should contact Corel sales or support and ask them.

CorelDraw Graphics Suite X7 with premium membership, PaintShop Pro X6 Ultimate.

Windows 8 (64 bit), Intel i7, 16GB RAM, 1GB Nvidia graphics card

Hello joan; I have both the 32 & 64 bit installed on this computer, but since the updates I have not had to use the 32 bit just to do a job, and will be uninstalling the 32 bit soon.

Hi George,
Since you have both installed, is there a way to find out how many
installs you have left? That would tell me for sure if it's using up 1 or 2.
Thanks!

Joan in CorelDRAW you can go to Help then click on Account Settings to see what you have.

Unfortunately it seems that Corel has not provided any way to get this info.

Andrew :

Unfortunately it seems that Corel has not provided any way to get this info.

You can also go to www.corel.com and login to your account there, assuming you have created an account in the past. If you do not yet have an account you need to create one and register your software to this account. Then you will also be able to login to the Membership.

Unless you were referring to the possibility to see how many activations you have used, then it does indeed seem it is not possible to get that info.

That is precisely the information that is needed to answer the question. It is also precisely the information that ought to appear in the list of registered products.

The missing information desperately needs to be added there to give users the ability to be certain that the same machine is not being counted twice and any de-activations have been properly counted too.

Installing 32 and 64 bit on a single CPU, counts as a single CPU.

Currently you are not able to check how many machines CGS has been installed on, but we have logged that with our IT team in hopes this information can be displayed when you log into corel.com and click on My Account.

Thanks Tony...... Joan if you have the updates I don't think you'll need the 32 bit ver. unless you have a 32 bit scanner.

While you are on this, could you please also ask your IT team to create an option in the Corel Account  to reset all activations (i.e. disable them all) so that when someone uninstalls without being connected to the internet or has a hard drive crash can reset the activations to zero and as such also disabling other installs as well. Then it would only be a matter of activating again for installs on e.g. the laptop and one can do a reinstall on a  new desktop without running into problems.

Some software applications with activation that I use have this option. (e.g. Capture One where you can deactivate an install on a certain computer from within your account on their website, another program has the option to deactivate all current installs when you have reached the maximum number of activations so that you can reinstall on a different computer)
