I am scanning from two different Ricoh high-volume MFPs and they offer both drivers for each machine. What is the best driver for this setup?
I am very familiar with the TWAIN driver, which has been updated but mostly unchanged functionally for almost 10 years. Ricoh's latest software offerings have been a little odd, but I would be willing to try the WIA driver if there's any advantage.
Is it alright to have both installed at the same time?
Thanks in advance for any advice!
From my experience, WIA seems to be more compatible compared to Twain when I used an HP flatbed scanner that's about ten years old.
Hello DRAW; You should be able to install both and select as you want. A 32 bit system shouldn't give you much trouble. the 64 bit could I have a Canon that there 64 bit driver doesn't work, but a HP OLD sacanner that work Very well. Good Luck.

I talked with my Ricoh guy and did more research and It seems TWAIN is the way to go. Faster, higher quality, more features, etc. The WIA file size is 5MB, the TWAIN is 15MB, so lots of extra goodies.
