Hello
I'm new to this group, I go by Keener, thanks for reading this.
I use a laser cutter to make numbers and crests for hockey jerseys. Just started using Corel to design mostly letters and numbers. I'm not sure about the best/quickest way to make a border around the numbers in a specific size then be able to separate them both so I can cut them in different colours.
Hope I describled that well. Please let me know!
Thanks
I think you probably want to create a contour which you will find as a flyout from the drop shadow tool in the main toolbox on the left. Then make sure you have the outside contour buton enabled on the top property bar.
The cutting device may require you to make the contour a specific spot colour so the cutting software can recognise it. If you give the model of your cutter and any software you use to prepare designs for it, the signmakers here will probably be able to make more specific suggestions.
Hello Chris; the screen shot below was done in X7, It that's sort of what you are Wanting, It took about I min.\

I think I figured it out. I took the inside shape, copy and paste, contour, uniform fill, convert to bitmap, outline trace, outline pen, fiddle with nodes if I have to, no fill and I have my second layer that the Epilog Helix laser cutter can recognize. Unless there's an easier way?
Hey Chris,
Have a look at this.
CDR file attached as well!
Good Luck!
I am having trouble with this now. I saw a tutorial about text to path, but is there a way to arch text like my example below?
