I tried the 30 day trial of CorelDraw Tech Suite x6, decided to stay with my x5 but now it will not install. After the install gets to 100% complete I get a screen that says:
----------------------------
Setup Incomplete
Your system has not been modified. To complete installation at another time, please run setup again.
Fatal error during installation. Click Finish to quit the setup.
I am running Win7 64 on i7 8 core w/16gb ram, 67gb hdd free
I have uninstalled x6 and deleted all of the x6 registry references but still get the same results. I also have tried running the setup.exe and the autoplay.exe as administrator and after a 'clean boot'.
Hello David; After Uninstalling X7 put the X6 DVD in and do a Repair.
George
It will be the X5 DVD in your case, but the principle is the same -- try the repair first. Uninstalling X6 should have left X5 in working order, apart from needing the repair to reinstate a few registry settings to stop CorelDraw X5 trying to open the nonexistent X6 photopaint.
But the technical suite is a bit more than CorelDraw so I'm not totally sure if it uninstalls exactly the same.
x5 has never been installed on this box, so there is no 'repair' to run.
Then I think you will need to carefully remove everything left over from X6 (including its registry settings) and try installing X5 afresh.
The programs are likely to be in either C:\Program Files\corel\CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X6 or C:\Program Files (x86)\corel\CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X6.The registry settings should be in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Corel\CorelDRAW\16.0.But I'm not sure whether technical suite installs anything outside these places.
After you have removed everything, it is sensible to run a registry checker such as cCleaner. Be sure to install it via piriform.com and not from a google search.
Still no luck getting the install to work. I'd pay the $19 per incident support fee, but x5 is no longer a supported product.
