Flying Sub goes on a Mission.

I was playing around with some of the fills in Corel and found the "swimming pool" fill and thought it perfect for this shot of the Seaview launching the Flying Sub.

  • The film didn't have the flying sub in it though. That was a second season TV addition, when the show went into color. The movie was color, and the pilot for the show was color, but the first season was in black and white with lots of stock footage from the film. But since Irwin Allen woulld shoot the effects scenes in color, just in case of future need, he had no problem going into color and still using the stock footage. He was famous for this. Even in Lost in Space, all the exterior scenes, space scenes, crashing scenes...shot in color so if the show went that route he could still use the stock footage. He was a planner.
