Staff identification

I think if you look at the forum for almost any software product big or small, you will find the status of staff participants or the author visibly identified and not hidden in a tooltip or some other obscure place.

The converse is probably worse -- if staff are not clearly identified, then users will start to assume that regular contributors are staff, which seems a much bigger problem.

In my opinion the concept of people using the forum as staff is good, the disclaimer as a private person is all that's needed. In todays world it's good to see people taking their own time to be interested in their work.

Staff or not who cares?  I'm more concerned with the identifying level of knowledge of the forum and CorelDraw users, not to be rude but I do not have the time to invest into users who do not make their living with the product.

I personally would like to see Corel staff identified as such. Not that it isn't fairly easy to figure out most cases.

At least a signature identifying as such. There is a big difference from a customer perspective if I ask to look at a confidential file versus a Corel employee requesting the same when someone has issues.

Besides, Corel should encourage official participation in its forums. Whether you like it or not, if you write something here, I do take it as officially from Corel. Same with Dawn et al.

On the Adobe forums, when staff participates in a discussion, they make it clear as to whether they are expressing their own opinion when it differs from the party line.

I am with David on this one. It's about solving an issue, I could care less whom provides the help or shows me something new.
