Hi, I am creating an illustration of a 50's diner,I want to create a neon tube with a glow around it as if it is lit up,I have done the line draw of the neon strip, converted the line to an object, then did a drop shadow in the normal mode with a low feather number, but it just isn't bright enough to look like a "neon" strip.
any ideas???? vince c.
You probably need to change the merge mode of the drop shadow (from multiply to normal or add).

Hendrik--Thanks it was so simple--I have one more needed tip--picture two oval ring objects---one is vertical up the other is horizontal across--I want to intersect the two so it looks like the foreground part of the horizontal ring looks like it is in front of the vertical ring and the back of the horizontal ring is behind the vertical ring--do you see it?
hmmm. there are a few ways to do this. In the attached image I used the smartfill to fill each of the sections, then select half and weld them together, then select the other half and weld them as well.
Ahmad--I got that tutorial regarding interlocked rings-on the very top first image shows the blue ring behind the yellow ring--it states "part 2 (leave)--part 1(trim)--my dumb question is--is that a summary of the next three steps below it--I just can't seem to get it to work?
Yes, it is a summary of the next 4 steps.
Which step is not working and what happens? I added some words; try to read the steps first and then re-read and carry them out.
