Recently installed Win7 64bit, and Corel Draw X4 won't install. I just get an error message saying The version of this file is not compatible with the version of windows that you're running. I've tried installing in compatibility mode for everything since XP SP2 and no luck. I was running Vista 64bit before and it ran fine.
H,
I beleive it should work to install X4 on Win 7 64 bit.Cant say why it doesnt, but untill there is an answer, if you have at least Windows 7 Professional 64 bit, then turn on the Virtual PC and XP mode, that will enable you to instantly install X4. You can then create a Folder which you can reach from both Virtual PC / XP mode. So for example if you use X4 Photo-Paint or CorelDRAW to scan a image, then place it in that folder. Then if you need it, when not using Virtula PC/XP mode, you reach the folder and scanned images and files easily.
Which win 7 do you have?
@ Ted: Formatted and installed Win7, then tried to re-install X4 from scratch. the setup file will not run at all, the error message I get is instantaneous.
@ Stephan: Win7 Ultimate. I've read of people using that method on other forums, bu it seems strange, as X4 SHOULD run on Win7 64bit. Corel says it will. I'll try that method and see what happens...
... erm... how do you do it?

But do see this as a temporary solution, Because you will be able to use X4 on Win 7 Ultimate. Promiss. I just dont remember what could be your specific issue to solve.
You will have to make a setting in BIOS and then other things, but you can start to check this Microsoft page about this very thing.http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/download.aspx
