Info when saving jpgs different in x4 than x7, and odd pattern on jpgs. Help!

Hi guys!  Couple of questions. When doing export to jpg in x4, it is saving things with an odd crisscross pattern on them. I took a screen shot to show (but don't know how to post photos so am using photobucket. When I've tried posting photos they've had to be postage stamp size)

See how odd it looks on the right?!! I had it happen a couple/few years ago too. But I can't remember what the issue was

The above is with my old laptop/x4.  Because of this issue, I figured I'd try my new laptop/x7. So it didn't create that odd pattern, but it isn't giving me all the info that x4 does such as dpi.

I'm hoping you guys can tell me how to make dpi and file size show up

Here is the x4 screen

Here it is in x7 (and I also don't know about the things like speed)

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!  I don't know what I would do without you

  • You can paste images into the forum if you go to the Rich Text Format link and then to the insert media icon.

Here's two of your images, so others can see what we are talking about.

In the above, you are creating a paletted image and that is the reason you are getting the dither pattern. The image contains more colours than the chosen palette, and CorelDraw is trying to simulate the extra colours by dithering. Paletted images are intended for drawings rather than photographs, so unless you had a particular reason for wanting a paletted jpg, the normal way to fix that would be to choose RGB (24 bit).

    Then for the X7 image:

If you open the transformation dropdown, it will show the resolution and size settings.
