I'm a CorelDraw user since version 3, I have just installed X4 on a fresh new Vista (Dell notebok D830 with Intel Graphics, Aero disabled).
I'm very disappointed by X4, it keep crashing for many resons:
1) It crashes sometimes if you past text from Word (2007)
2) It crashes sometime if you print
3) It chashes sometime if you double click on a guide line
4) Other i do not remember, but in a full day work I have to reboot not less than 5 times.
When it crashes Window does, so there is nothing I can do then hard-reboot the computer.
I never had problems with X3 SP2 (same windows same computer).
The question are: why do we have to wait for SP1 to have a decent stability? Should I switch back to X3 and ask refound for X4 -or better- should I switch to Adobe software?
Sincerely I think X4 is a piece of crap.
A very upset Corel customer.
P.S. CorelPaint X4 works like a charme.
I am sorry to hear that you are having problems with X4. Could you provide some more details, and especially steps to reproduce your problems so that we can investigate it?

Well, it doesn't happen all the times but once in a while. Just to report the last one (10 minutes ago):
Simple A4 document with 5 300dpi images, 4 text box, a bunch of objects (text, shapes, etc.). I have worked on the document then I was ready to print: Menu/print click and then... CoreDraw stuck!
Impossible to run the task manager or doing anything else, the only option is to push the power button for 5 seconds to switch off the computer.
My Vista is very stable, no problems with any program installed. Actually yesterday I also got a blue screen after double click on a guide line behind a text box. I do not remember the type of error.
Looks like the biggest problems are relatet to text box and printing.
It happened also that the program crashed wile I was draggin the bitmap but after the reboot I have tried to open the file but CorelDraw hanged while opening, reboot again, used the backup file...
I do not know what is the problem, really, I have used X3 for months without any problem...
My notebook is a Dell D830 (Intel graphics - 2GB RAM), I only run the ESET NOD32 (rel 3) in background. BTW, my notebook is part of a Windows 2003 SBS domain with documents redirection.
Okay... let's focus on the blue screen first. Open your event viewer (Start, type eventvwr.msc), and, under the System category, look for any messages of type "Error" (indicated by a red icon) Hopefully there aren't many. Find the one that occured when you got your blue screen, and double click on it. A dialog will pop up showing the details of the event. There should be a button on that dialog that copies the details to your clipboard. Click it, then paste the details here.

Thanks Jeff for your help, but I have already tracked the 3 BS I've got since I use CD but they are different and I found no useful information, all of them despite different where related to memory (at least one of the possible causes). But my memory is fine, I have tested with both Windows and Dell memory test.
Again, I think the problem is related to the fonts or the way CD manages the text box, I was editing a simple text box with Arial font and it crashed again, and again I had to kill with Task Manager.
I never had blue screens with my notebook with any software also memory intensive ones nor I had any problem with fonts, at least using office 2007.
Is it possible that you're using the shape tool to modifiy the text spacing when it crashes? I've heard a few folks saying that but we have yet to dupe it in house.

Thank you all guys for trying to help me, but the only option I had to keep working on my files was to uninstall X4 and install again X3. Since I have installed X3 no crashes anymore (same notebook, same Vista, same video drivers, etc.).
I DO NOT want to spend time trying to understand why X4 is unstable, it is not my job. I'll ask the refound for the X4 and *maybe* when SP2 will be released I will buy again... *maybe*.
