I use a template for all my drawings that includes a page number in the lower right hand corner (usually says "Page 1 of 4" for example). I usually edit this number manually, which is fine for documents with a small amount of pages, but if I'm working on a large document (50+ pages) and need to re-order some pages it means editing the page number on every page manually.
Is there some way of having the number in a piece of artistic text dynamically update depending on what page number it's on?
I have programed a macro & have already used it for a 1.2K book in CorelDRAW. You also can try it & send in your feedback.

Thanks Anand, I gave it a quick try but it doesn't seem to do exactly what I'm looking for.
I created some artistic text on page 1 and then applied your utility to the text. This changes the text to '1'. Now when I copy and paste this artistic text onto page 2, it stays as '1' instead of updating to '2', which is what I'm looking for.
Hi Anand,
I'm also working on a large document of more than a 1000 pages, spread over 30 files. I need the page number to start at specific numbers in each file - as it is in your case - but the macro that you provided is only 1K and does not appear in Corel despite having pasted it in the GMS file.
Could you please provide your macro again ? I desperately need it.
Thanks
Euphorik
I tried the macro Anand provided and it works great in X3. For some reason the macro menu is grayed out in X4. Why the heck would that be?
Hi twodaytshirs!
could you please tell me where to find the famous macro?

sorting out master pages would be a big boon! That & some colour issues are the only reasons I occasionally open InDesign... the ability to set master page items & then over-ride on specific pages is great, as is being able to add auto page numbers (which can then be removed as desired on particular pages) etc.
Anand, I'm going to try out your script, thanks
Phil
Thank you Phil. I am not sure if the macro is locked with an expiry date. Please let me know if it does not work, I shall post the extended one for you.

Hello everyone. This thread is a bit old, but I found a great macro for page numbering which you can use once your document is done. It's by AntiPoetics and the link is here:

It gives you alot of control, and you can modify all your numbers thru the macro once you've created them
Peace,
Colin
