Can't scan from CorelDraw X4 after upgrade

I upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10 and for the most part everything works like before except the words for "File", "Edit", "View", etc. don't show up until you put the cursor over them. My main complaint so far is wanting to scan something. I can print from coreldraw but scanning isn't working. I can work around it by going to the devices and right clicking on my printer, scrolling down to where it says scan but what a pain in the butt! Anyone have the same issue or solution?

Which scanner and which software/ driver? A couple of us have an issue with Epson V700 with CGSX7 and Win10.

Have you tried to use the WIA interface instead of the TWAIN interface, when you scan into DRAW?

You wrote you are using corel DRAW X4. Now X4 in partcular and X5 dont work so well, or at all , with windows 10 or Win 8 or 8.1. When X4 (version 14) was released, windows 7 was the new thing on block.

Also, if you have installed a 64 bit Windows 10 instead of a 32 bit operating system, then, most probably one of the problems is lying in that - having 64 bit, if that is what you have. You can see that by looking in the "My computer" to view which type of, version of windows 10 you have. I would, if I were you, create a virtual harddrive/machine within windows 10, and install your old Windows 7, and run X4 from there. X4 on Win 8/8.1/win 10 is begging for problem.
