You have to create a custom spot color named (case sensitive) CutContour.

I did create i. Its in my custom spot color. I followed the instructions from Versa works manual

What format are you exporting them to?
If using PDF set you compatibility to PDF-X3.
Make sure you are exporting your colour as Native.
See how that goes.
