Is anyone else experiencing a very large number of crashes in Photo Paint X5? I am running it on a brand new Windows 7 64-bit computer with AMD X6 chip, 8 GB of Ram, etc, etc.
Photo Paint is simply crashing too often! I am losing work sometimes stuff that I just put a lot of time and effort into. When I try saving it, the Save button (or Export button) simply doesn't respond. I can't save the work, and soon afterward it crashes. Sometimes I get an 'out of memory' error.
Other times, if I have several images open at the same time, zooming produces a blank screen, like it is out of memory and can't render the image. This usually means it will crash soon, too.
Getting exasperated here ... The new Service Pack 1 that automatically downloaded and installed had my hopes soaring, but it appears to have done little to solve Photo Paint's problems. It may have mostly been for Draw. I am nearing the point where I reinstall my X3 and give up on X5, at least until Corel fixes these problems. I can't keep losing my work. :(

Yes, I'm having Windows 7 x64 crashes as well.
Honestly? I would pay extra if they just spent the next year fixing bugs instead of coming out with new features, but I know that's never going to happen and it's just not smart business. The bug count is extremely too high IMO and it has been since CorelDRAW Graphics Suite 3. I'm a huge huge Corel fan, but I'm getting extremely frustrated at the bugs as it really makes me look bad to my employer when things take me extra long until I find that sweet work-around that gets me around whatever bug I'm trying to dodge.
I just really had to vent today. I'm really pissed off at Corel PHOTO-PAINT today.

I wonder if it's 64 bit issues I run Windows 7 Ultimate and Vista Ultimate 32 bit and have no crash issues.
actually thats wrong, many companies believe that, its actually the smartest business....ive done the same in my work...instead of providing new things to my clients y provide them what they wnat...and well i get more clients...Corel should do the same and give fixes instead of features that slow down the program.
Thanks for the idea. If it doesn't seem to crash on a 32-bit system, I think I'll try running it in XP compatibility mode as Windows 7 professional has that capability.
I would also pay for a bug-free version of X5. I don't know if it would look good on the Ad sheet, though. :D
I can see it now, "CorelDRAW X6: No new features, just way less bugs."
I would totally buy it too. I would seriously shell out the money for a version like that. Usually, I just buy CorelDRAW Graphics Suite every 2 versions, but I would buy this one ASAP!
Can you imagine if their programmers spent literally all of their resources on bug fixes for an entire year? That would be pretty awesome IMO.
BTW, though X5 crashes on my Windows 7 x64, it's only happened a couple times. I'm more concerned with the objects panel bugs than anything. They've been driving me crazy and really slowing me down!
