I have installed on my Dell Vostro laptop a trial copy of Corel X5 on a recent formatted XP SP3 system, but everytime I start the program it crashes delivering a A.R.M. message.
I search the web and found that it is due to a Hex registry problem which I fixed but I stil have the same situation, any ideas how to solve this???? I'm pulling my hair, it has become a challange now
Press and hold down the F8 key while starting up CorelDRAW and then when the pop-up appears, answer "Yes" to setting to factory defaults.
If this does not work, then you will have to uninstall the Corel Graphics Suite, and the Corel Graphics Windows Shell Extension and then re-install them.
Hugh - I'm having a similar problem and am unable to delete the Corel Graphics - Windows Shell Extension by using Add/Remove Programs. Is there another way to remove this?
If you have not done so, remove the Corel Graphics Suite, first. If that is already gone and you still can not remove the (Corel) Shell Extension, then try to do a fresh install over it.
One word of note: When you remove the installation, do include the personal data settings check box on the uninstall window. (This should help remove any custom data that would be preserved on the re-install.)
I too had this problem and it was down to my Windows not downloading the updates for net framework.
I had to download a clean script for all versions of net framework & then install them again in a certain order. If you don't have all the latest updates from windows Corel x5 will not in my case work.
