Hello, if I have a group and resize it by selecting it and moving one of the corner handles the scaling factor changes. What I want to know is how to reset this so that the shape remains at its new size and the scaling factor shows 100%. I want to reset the scaling information. Thanks

Hi,
After scaling the group to the value you want to, ungroup all the objects.
Then select any one object. You';; see the new scale factor value. Right click in the scale factor box and click Settings. Enter new Full Value as 100. Remember do not enter 100% in the new full value box. Just enter 100 without any units.
Do this for both the scale factors; Horz as well as vert.
Also note, you cannot perfor this operation for the whole group. You'll have to do this one by one for all the objects.
Atleast I am not aware of the solution to do this to whole group at once.

There are other ways to do it too, but it involves changing the object, like Weld (to itself), Convert to Curves or Combine for example.
You may also want to try and use the Transformations docker. Scale always revert to 100% in the docker.

The problem here is that I cannot keep original shapes. They all get converted to curves in some way or the other.

No Ronny. Transformation docker does not revert to 100% after the scaling is performed. It will always show the scaled percentage value.
For example if I scale a 2"x2" object to 1"x1" from transformation docker (either via "Scale & Mirror" or "Size"), the new object will always show scale factor as 50% in property bar.
The only way to get the scale factor back to 100% without changing the size of the object and also maintaining the original size (without converting it to curves) is the way I have described in my earlier post i.e. by right clicking in scale factor box, click settings and change value to 100.
***EDIT***
Looks like there is some problem after changing the value to 100 from settings. It does not scale object(s) thereafter.
Looks like some kind of bug???? I am not sure.

This is very interesting.
Also it seems that shape scaling info is save with a graphic. The interesting part is that the scaling info is remembered when it is imported. You would think and imported file would have a reset scale (100%)
