Hey guys,
I'm an IT student and use corelDRAW for some basic artwork making. I am using the trial version and is about to expire. I inquired about the cost and it's close to $600 which is a lot to me.
Now I looked up on eBay and Amazon where I am getting the same at much lower price. What I want to know if it's ok to buy CorelDraw from an American retailer, get it shipped here in India and use it. Or will it be an invalid license?
I have friends in USA who can buy me the software and ship it here. Will that be ok?
Thanks!
Jugal
As far i know, this is not legal. If you buy the software in the USA is only for use in the USA, and is not valid outside. Is not a problem of Corel, it's about the law of the USA

That cant be true can it. I have bought Norton programs at Office Max retail stores in the USA and using it on my computer over here in Sweden. I have download legalprograms from american software makers.
I have bought CorelDRAW GS and other software when in Sweden and when on travel abroad using it abroad.
I would rather ask how much you will have to pay for the program at Amazon. There have been repeated problems with some licenses bought from Amazon. Proving to be illegal licenses and hence making it stop working or something else. You could end up buying a program and seeing it stop working. As reference read this regarding X4 http://stefanlindblad-english.blogspot.com/2010/06/fake-seriel-number-shuts-down-coreldraw.html

Its a lot of money for everyone. Not only you. Its alot for USA users as well, and they useally dont pay those amounts. In SWEDEN we pay 699 euros which is OVER 700 US dollars.
As far as I know the price colse to $600 must be with one year subscription and not only the box licence. The box packs that are sold in India or Asia Pacific regions have a line printed "For sale in Asia Pacific". I would take a clear meaning out of this that no other pack would be legal in the region. So you can check for the price and a friend from Australia.
